With growing age, one will need to pay more attention to keep the body fit, have good control on the body movements and have adequate balance too. Regular exercising becomes a prerequisite for being fit especially for the elders. If visiting a gym or going out for work-outs is inconvenient, the old people can be provided with suitable equipment to work-out in their homes itself.

These exercises will be aimed at improving the flexibility, strengthening the muscles and having a wider range of movements of the body. These should be commenced on consultation with a doctor. Some such equipment that can be used for these purposes are:

• Elliptical Machine: This is used to practice movements which are at par with walking or running out-doors. It is less stressful on the joints and the elder has lesser chances of injury.
• Free weights: One can choose weights which can be lifted comfortably without straining. They are available in the form of dumbbells and are perfect for toning muscles.
• Recumbent stationary bike: This is a better option as compared to stationary bikes, since they lay lesser stress on the back. This can be used for strengthening leg muscles.
• Treadmill: One can select the pace of work-out as is comfortable and feel the entire body getting exercised.
• Yoga blocks: These are made of foam or bricks and are positioned in such a manner that no part of the body gets strained while exercising or practicing different postures of yoga.
• Other equipment include stair-stepper, rowing machine, resistance band, mini exercising trampoline, and stability ball.

Exercise Bike Parts - Tips On Shopping and Maintenance Of Your Equipment

!±8± Exercise Bike Parts - Tips On Shopping and Maintenance Of Your Equipment

Exercising is very popular in this day and age. More people are going out to purchase exercise equipment. Exercise bikes are a very popular choice for getting in shape, toning muscles, and just to stay healthy and fit. You can find a wide variety of brands and models for exercise bikes. When you give your bike a work out, you are sure to eventually wear something out. Exercise bike parts are available to purchase at many of the major brands websites. Also, shopping at any fitness store you should be able to find the parts that you need.

Not sure what your bike might need? It is smart to take your bike to a repair shop. Just guessing is not a very good fix. You might find a broken part caused by something that you can over look. It is best to have a professional take a look and tell you exactly what is wrong and how to fix it.

When you purchase a piece of exercise equipment make sure it is one that you can get parts for easily and that won't cost you a small fortune in the end. Purchasing discontinued exercise equipment such as the Vitamaster treadmill will end up costing you way too much in the long run. You are better off buying something more expensive to begin with, but will last a long time. Also, make sure you can shop for parts online. Brands such as Cardiomax make it difficult to find a website specifically for their equipment. Thus making it hard to find the exact parts you would need.

A few models and makes of exercise equipment that don't require too much maintenance include the Lifestyler treadmill. This is an "old school" type of treadmill, but yet extremely reliable. It doesn't have all the fancy features that just require to be updated on a regular basis. The Lifestyler treadmill should have a 2HP motor in it. This motor is the best working one that Lifestyler has. You will get a lot of use out of it. If you need to replace the motor it is very expensive, so just because this is a low maintenance machine it doesn't mean that you do not have to take proper care of it.

Another brand and model of exercise equipment that requires little upkeep is the Schwinn xr7. This is an old version of today's exercise bikes. They are the most reliable bikes on the market due to the fact that they are powered by your leg power. They are built heavy duty for an extreme workout. To prevent the need to buy exercise bike parts, you should take care of your exercise bike. Make sure to put lubrication on every part that needs it when it needs to be lubricated. Clean your bike after each use. Wipe off sweat and water that might have been dropped on it while you were working out. If you don't use the bike as often as you'd like, be certain to put it in storage out of the way. Cover it with a blanket or sheet to keep dust off and out of the working parts. Remove the batteries when not in use or it if is electrical, unplug it from the wall socket.
